Description

The Butte KOA is a GREAT spot to stop and camp, midway between Glacier and Yellowstone national parks. But don’t hurry away until you’ve had a chance to explore Butte. It’s easy: Just hop onto "Old Number One," the trolley car that boards next door at the Chamber of Commerce. Take one of four World famous underground tours of uptown Butte. Berkeley Pit is an engineering marvel, the largest truck-operated open-pit copper mine in America. Mansions of old-time mining barons cluster in Butte neighborhoods. A short drive in any direction from Butte will transport you back in time in mining ghost towns: Elkhorn, Bannack, Phillipsburg, Garnet, and more! After sightseeing, lace up hiking boots or maybe golf shoes – Jack Nicklaus designed Butte’s Old Works Golf Course. Take your sweetheart for a ride on one of our rentable bicycles built for two, check out horseshoes, beach volleyball, and a fire pit for roasting s’mores from our office Fish in streams running near your campsite. Then treat yourself: The Chicken Shack serves such appetizing fare that locals often drop in for a bite.
